AUGUST/SEPTEMBER
1.
Make sure the Audit has been completed before the first general
membership meeting. This
is required of your insurance policy and MD PTA Bylaws.
2. Executive Board at
its first meeting:
a. Establishes goals
for the year
b. Establishes
committees
c. Chooses committee
chairs according to your bylaws.
Don't forget about the
National PTA Reflections Arts Program.
3. Bylaws: Are your
bylaws due for their tri-annual review? If so, establish a special bylaws
committee to review the current bylaws, suggest any or no changes, bring
to the Board of Directors, publish to the general membership thirty days
notice, vote at general membership meeting, mail 3 copies to MD PTA, one
copy to Council, and keep one for your records. How simple is that?!
4. Welcome all school
staff and students to school.
5. Launch membership
immediately. Aim to increase your membership by at least
25.
6. At the first
general membership meeting, present the Audit/reconciliation report and
then present the proposed budget for the year.
