PTA work is done through the committee structure

Structure – The PTA elected officers (aka executive committee as defined in your bylaws Article IX) decide the committees needed to support the goals. The elected officers vote the chairman into position and thus forms the Board of Directors. (as defined in bylaws Article XIII.2)

Standing Committees: the work is year round. The chairpersons are members of the board of directors and count towards quorum.

Special Committees: are formed for a specific task and once its work is accomplished is disbanded. The special committee chair is not a voting member of the board of directors but are welcome to attend board of director meetings.

All committees must submit a Plan of Work and estimate expenses and income generated for the budget for approval before beginning their work.
