Bylaws are important!

Bylaws are the basic rules for governing the organization. It has the PTA’s legal name, purpose, membership, election, board of directors, duties of officers, quorum for meetings, how many meetings to have, etc.

Each PTA must review and renew its bylaws every three years.

**Computer altered printouts or retyped bylaws will not be accepted.
Standard bylaws are pre-printed and provide blank spaces to fill in according to a unit’s needs and must be used.

After the bylaws have been approved by the general membership, they are sent to MDPTA for their approval.
