Due November 15th
Form 990EZ – for those with income between $50,000 – $200,000 (instructions). Form 990EZ is submitted electronically, there are no paper forms. It cannot be filed directly with the IRS, you must file through an IRS E-File Provider. Remember to include schedule A. After filing, upload a copy to Givebacks.
OR
Form 990N (instructions) – for those with income usually under $50,000. Form 990N is submitted electronically, there are no paper forms.
You must create a personal account with either login.gov or id.me before you can login and file the 990N. You cannot use an account created by a previous treasurer.
After you submit the 990N form, make sure to click on the “Manage Form 990N” button and check that your return was accepted. If it was accepted (or rejected), save a copy of the confirmation (found by clicking on the “Submission ID”). This confirmation page needs to be sent to Free State PTA (FSPTA) by uploading it through Givebacks. Do NOT upload a confirmation page that says that the status is Pending, the status must say either Accepted or Rejected. Do not upload a copy of the 990N form, only the confirmation page (example confirmation page).

Maryland Charitable Registration Update
You must have an account at: https://onestop.md.gov in order to file this form.
– If your PT(S)A’s gross receipts are less than $25,000, you should file the Exempt Organization Fund-Raising Notice
– If your PT(S)As gross receipts are more than $25,000, you should file the Annual Update Form. If you filed a 990N and are not eligible to file the Exempt Organization Fund-Raising Notice you will also need to file a COF-85.

You must have an account at: https://egov.maryland.gov/BusinessExpress/Account/Logon in order to file this form.

Membership Dues:
National and FSPTA: First payment due by September 30, and then each month that you receive new memberships (per Bylaws)
FSPTA offers its locals two ways to pay their State and National dues.
– Either print a form and mail with a check to the address shown on the form.
– Or pay through Givebacks
The current price per member is $5.25.
($2.00 for FSPTA and $3.25 for National dues).
PTA Council of Howard County Membership Dues
DUE: November 1st – $200.00 per year
Use the invoice form Dues & Scholarship Invoice 2026 and submit the form with a check to PTACHC at address shown on the form.
JUNE
Send the contact information for your PT(S)A officers to FSPTA and to PTACHC within 2 weeks of your PTA elections (even if you have the same officers as the prior year). Use this form for PTA Council: OFFICER CONTACT. Enter your officers in Givebacks for FSPTA – due July 1
