The PTA Council of Howard County offers the following scholarships to assist senior students who will be attending a junior/community college, or a four-year college/university, or a technical trade school after graduation from a Howard County public high school.

Scholarship amounts vary annually based on donation levels. Historically, they have ranged from $500 to $1,000.

This is a one-year, non-renewable grant.

Types of Scholarships

Academic Scholarship. For students who have demonstrated a high degree of scholastic aptitude and performance, including extracurricular activities, and leadership qualities.

Teacher Education Scholarship. For students pursuing education in a four-year teacher education program and have shown a high performance in high school.

Dr. Charles Ecker Scholarship for Community Service: For students showing outstanding contributions to the community and a high performance while in high school.

M. Thomas Goedeke Scholarship for Trade, Technical Education, or Community college. For students pursuing an advanced education in a trade/technical field or a two-year community college program, and a high performance in high school.

You may apply for more than one scholarship using a single application. Be sure to include ALL the information needed for each scholarship. If your overall score qualifies you for more than one scholarship, you will receive the higher award amount.
